March 4th was the big day for the Foundation's reverse raffle drawing for a cash prize and beautiful artwork contributed by regional artists and Foundation supporters. Jill Thompson, Athens County Auditor, generously agreed to serve as our official "ticket drawer" and pull from among the large pool of tickets purchased by hopeful friends of the Foundation as participants in the Foundation's charity fundraiser. FAO Chair of Trustees, Marianne Campbell was present, joined by her husband Bill Campbell, as was Ron Strickmaker, Vice Chairman of FAO, and trustee Vic Shaffer, also joined by his spouse, Janet Shaffer. Leslie Lilly, FAO President and CEO of the Foundation, completed the assembly for this exciting event. Though the ticket threshold required to reach $25,000 grand prize was not reached, the final dollar amount for the grand prize was, however, $10,000 - a tidy sum.

We wish to acknowledge and thank all of the many friends and supporters who participated by purchasing raffle tickets, donating artwork, giving of your time, energy, and enthusiasm to engage so many in learning more about FAO and contributing to the success of our first annual fundraiser. It's folks like you who help folks like us keep good things happening for Appalachian Ohio. Thank you so much!
