Monroe County Community Foundation Announces Inaugural Request for Mini-Grant Proposals

Tax-Exempt Organizations in Monroe County are Invited to Apply

Woodsfield, OH – The Monroe County Community Foundation (MCCF) is excited to announce its inaugural request for mini-grant proposals. MCCF invites applications from any tax-exempt organization serving the Monroe County community. Projects should increase quality of life, create access to opportunities, or implement a solution for a community need in Monroe County.

“The Monroe County Community Foundation is excited to offer our first mini-grant opportunity for Monroe County,” said Karena Reusser, a committee member with the Monroe County Community Foundation. “This is why we created the MCCF. We wanted to support good efforts and ideas across our county. With the support of the community, we hope to grow the resources we have to serve organizations making a difference right here.”

For the inaugural grant round, mini-grants will be awarded and range in size from $250 to $500. At this time, the Foundation does not accept applications for any event sponsorships or sports-related requests. Grant applications will be accepted from March 1, 2016 until March 31, 2016 and must include a completed application and a 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter. Applications are available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/Monroe. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2016 and mailed to Monroe County Community Foundation, PO Box 494, Woodsfield, OH 43793.

The Monroe County Community Foundation was established in 2014 to ensure permanent support for the citizens and communities of Monroe County. A member of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio’s (FAO) Growing Home family, the Monroe County Community Foundation works with FAO to create opportunities for Appalachian Ohio’s citizens and communities, like those in Monroe County, by inspiring and supporting philanthropy.
